Sun and water
In the project "The Key of the Universe" I reflect on freedom as an element of resonance with nature, which is present in all three phases of the creation of my work: Pre-process; freedom in the observation of nature at different scales and phases of matter; Creative process; freedom as an intimate necessity for the human being; and in the post-process of analysis and synthesis; freedom as an esthetic-formal aspect.
An introspection on a geographic move from Mexico City to Trondheim-Norway, where I now live and work. To live surrounded by rivers, lakes, fjords in extreme temperatures around -15° C, in addition to the absence of 7 months of sun and the darkness, a contrast in climate change and culture lies as the source of inspiration for this work. Sun and water are the seed of life for every human being. However, when living exposed to them all the time, as it is the case of countries closest to the equator, hinders a certain awareness of their importance in our daily lives

In this series I used two artistic means; the first: through micro and landscape photography and photography by modifying or altering the space, allowed me to create my own language of water. I browsed in this medium the communication possibilities, seeking at all times the experimentation with materials with different surface tension grades and freezing points. The second: painting, which living in these coordinates led me unintentionally to a black, white and blue colour palette. The works are part of a transformation of patterns and structures where there are no rational actions, but a process where I let myself go by instinct, mental and emotional states specific to that time and place, resulting in forms which reveal an in-depth interpretation of water.
I borrow water in nature as an essential element of life, in order to reflect on freedom. I draw an analogy between nature’s creation components and those of the artist; where nature takes the role of surface in a space (canvas), while water functions as pictorial material (Painting), and the elements of weather (temperature, humidity, wind and pressure) perform as creators (The artist).
The states of matter; solid, liquid, gas, as well as the variation of atmospheric temperatures, the force of the wind, the time and freedom, are the elements nature works with in the creation of patterns, structures and ephemeral forms. These elements have been observed and documented in my different expeditions between the 2014 - 2016 to "Røros", which by its geographical position stands as one of the coldest unique places in Norway
Freedom as a source of inspiration, inner freedom of the human being, freedom of expression and communication, freedom to demand freedom.
